A bustling night life

Having acquired the nickname of "the city that never sleeps" it is nobody’s guess that night life in Tel Aviv is highly active and spills over to the next morning. Tel Aviv´s nightlife is well known and has been growing in strength with time. The people of Israel, age immaterial, take to socializing very enthusiastically. The youth under 21 have a special reason to party during the weekends. The rest of the week they are out serving at their army regiments which is a mandatory 3 year service for everyone till 21 years of age.

In Israel the week starts from Sunday and runs to mid–Friday. Hence Thursday evening is party-time. Friday night, the Sabbath is no exception for people who party here. However in other cities, the clubs may close before sunset. Despite the fact that partying is at its height, drunkenness is almost unheard of. For most Israeli´s getting dead drunk is ‘not cool’. Although they like their noise and excitement, bar-hopping is infrequent and violence is almost non–existent.

Given below are the famous bars that could give you a truly enchanting plunge:

Camelot – 16, Shalom Aleikhem Street : This is a stylish bar and you can see various famous rock bands performing here.

M.A.S.H–Dizengoff Street : More of the Anglican crowd gathers here.

Molly Blooms Irish Pub – Opp Dan Hotel : This is a totally Ireland styled pub.

Café Noga–4, Pinsker Street: This is a more authentic Israeli club.

The Club Scene
There will be periodic changes in the club schedules and they have to be checked in the local listings. The part of Allenby Street that is adjacent to Carmel market still remains the club hub of Tel Aviv. You can go to Fetish at 15, Rambam Street for jazz music. For its scenic location, the Dolphinarium at Ha Yarkon Street, is crowded (it is located just behind the sea).

If you are techno–savvy and enjoy state–of–the–art techno music, then Dinamo Dvash on 59, Abarbanel Street is just the place. It boasts of having internationally acclaimed DJ´s as its guests. Be sure to be there early as its capacity is a little over 450. For the gay crowds, Lemon, in Florentin District is a famous place. It is also known for its ‘above28’ nights held on Thursdays. Jaffa too has many of these happening clubs. TLV, in the Tel Aviv Port Area is a famous club. Vox, located at 2 Yagea Kamaim is one more very crowded spot and has gay audience and culture. We also see many open-air music concerts by stars of global fame.

For the fashion conscious, Sheinkin Street is the place to be with its ultra–modern shopping areas and a host of café–bars to relax in.
