Tel Aviv can be called the culture and art center. The beaches of Tel Aviv hold the pulse of the city. The city boasts of different kinds of beaches each enthralling you with its unique ambience. Cool waters and refreshing sea breezes invite all kinds of people to the beach. From the lawyers to the fisherman, from the people practicing yoga to the relaxing sun bathers – all head for the water.

Another highlight is the Tayelet or the promenade that extends to many miles along the Mediterranean. This is the best way to have a taste of Tel Aviv´s varied kinds of beaches. There are also many museums and parks which add to the culture and aesthetic beauty of the city.

The largest park in the city has been named after the First mayor Gan Meir. It also has museums which help us to get inside information about the city. An array of city tours awaits the tourist – It could be an enjoyable bus tour throwing light on all important aspects of the city or the more leisurely taken walk tours with their own glamour.

Arts and Theatre
Tel Aviv is fast progressing to justify its accreditation as the cultural capital of Israel. Being open to people from diverse backgrounds, the city has paved the way for the growth of a multi-dimensional culture looked at with awe by people all around the world. This modernism, however, traces its roots from the people of Ashkenazi origin who were the early immigrants into the country. The standards of music, dance and opera here are internationally acclaimed and the city has a major part of the country´s performing centers.

The Opera Building (Tel Aviv performing Arts Center) is the abode of performing arts in Israel. Worth mentioning are the New Israeli Opera Company and the Israeli ballet. Another place of cultural importance is Frederick R.Mann Auditorium, a 3000 capacitated hall and the largest theater in Tel Aviv. Habima is Israel´s national theater and one of the most impressive symbols of 20th century Jewish culture. Of more recent importance is the Enav Cultural Center. Other theaters worth mention are Gesher Theater and Beit Lessen Theater in Jaffa. Not to miss the Jewish place in Tel Aviv that strictly adheres to Jewish rules, Kerem Hateimanim. – a place that provides a rich glimpse into the heritage of Yemenite Jews.

Dance Companies
Israel has many dance centers and companies. The most famous is the Batsheva Dance company. The Suzanne Della center is the most important dance institution in Israel and offers a wide range of festivities all through the year. There are also other dance centers like the Bat Dor and Orna Porat Youth. Israeli ballet Center hosts the ballets.

World class opera and traditional music is offered on a regular basis at New Israeli Opera and Israel Chamber Orchestra. Tel Aviv has seen many of the international musicians like Zubin Mehta and Itzhak Perlman and conductors of global fame like Lorin Maazel and Pinchas Zukerman.

The film industry in Tel Aviv is a relatively small one. Films from around the world are screened. The most famous cinema house is Tel Aviv Cinematheque where Israeli Films are screened during normal times and a variety of others during any Film Festival. Some of the more popular film festivals are the Student Film Festival, Comics and Caricatures, the Festival of Animation, Salute to Israeli Cinema and the Film and Videotape Festival.
